Bruce High, Calhoun City Elementary, and Vardaman Elementary Schools are High Performing schools for the 2009-2010 school year.
Each of these schools met academic growth and had QDI scores of 166 and above. This is not an easy endeavor for any academic institution with new curriculum and higher standards. "Our teachers and students work extremely hard everyday to maintain the high standards that have been set by our state. I am very proud of our ‘High Performing’ rating," said Mark Grubbs, Bruce High Principal.
The Calhoun County School District continues to strive toward excellence in the academic setting. New Curriculum methods along with the hard work and dedication of the entire school staff, create a successful educational environment for all of the stakeholders involved. It is the goal of the Calhoun County School District to continue educational initiatives along with technological methods to enhance the possibilities that all of our schools will become high performing educational institutions.
The Calhoun County School Board will meet at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2011 in the board room of the Calhoun County School District Office.
